The
versatile and vibrant mother of three is a model and parenting guru is the Talk To The Animals host.
She first came to our attention as a model on and later co-host of, Sale of
the Century on Channel 9, then as the host of Hot Box Office on Foxtel.
More recently she presented family and parenting segments on Good Morning Australia on Ten, and TODAY on 9.
Nicky has one of Australia's most recognisable faces, and is known as the face
of Dr Le Winn's cosmetics and Adairs linen.
A member of the original Talk To The Animals series in 1997, reporter Sallianne
Deckert's career has taken her around the world.
Sallianne's credits include reporter/producer roles with Postcards (Victoria),
Today, Mornings with Kerri-Anne, A Current Affair, Getaway and Our House, all on Channel 9.
When she has a moment's free time, the mother of one loves sailing, running, horseriding,
watersports, cooking, photography, gardening and reading.
Before becoming a successful comedian and FM Breakfast Host, Des started his professional
life as a journalist in the print media.
From there he worked for more than a decade as a TV News reporter for the ABC,
Channel 9 and Channel 7.
He opted out of the harsh glare of commercial television and entered the seedy
world of stand up comedy only to end up back in the harsh glare of commercial
television working as Sam Newman's segment producer on The Footy Show.
He marked his arrival on the national stage with a place in the Australian final
of the Triple J Raw Comedy competition in 1998 and has appeared regularly on television
and radio.
For several years he was a central part of Mix FM's imaginatively named breakfast
team, Loz, Michelle and Des.
He also wrote and produced his own one-man show Not The Good Scissors for
the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
For as long as Dr Melissa Meehan can remember, animals have been her passion, so becoming a vet was a natural progression.
Dr Melissa has successfully passed Veterinary Membership exams in Small Animal Medicine. On passing these exams she was selected to commence a four year residency to become a specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology.
Melissa started out in a mixed practice in the Yarra Valley, treating horses, farm animals and of course, cats and dogs.
She's been a model, done radio talkback, and produced and hosted her own show on Channel 31, ‘Vanity Pets’ .
She was lucky enough to meet on the job her two little canine mates, Bella and Lola, both shelter dogs. They now live happily with her rabbit, Milo.
Model, writer, reporter, MC - Pete Lazer is a man of many talents.
He was host of the cult hit show, Shopping for Love, and On Display, which showcased home and urban design.
Pete also writes feature articles for Postcards Magazine, Golf Australia Magazine and Edge Magazine.
On the charity front, Pete is a board member for the children's charity, Variety, and chairman of the Young Variety Committee.
He's also done fundraising work as a Master of Ceremonies for the Royal Children’s Hospital, and the Allanah and Madeline Foundation.
He is proud dad to two beautiful goldfish, Myrtle and Lionel.
In 2004, Chris became the new presenter and vet on Channel 9's Burke’s
Backyard. Chris also writes for Burke’s Backyard Magazine and
is a regular on Triple M's breakfast show The Cage.
Chris is also an ambassador for Assistance Dogs Australia, a charity that aims
to increase the independence of people with physical disabilities and is the spokesperson
for AMRRIC (Animal Management in Rural and Remote Indigenous Communities). Dr Chris appears in the international editions of Talk to the Animals.
If you have a pet problem, Dr Jo Righetti can fix it. She's an animal behaviour
expert, and has written a series of booklets on animal training, including Barking
Problems Solved and Cat Toileting Problems Solved.
